God guides with fire. It lights our way, clears out the debris within and without, warms our hearts and gathers us together. As the Israelites traveled through the desert it was a pillar of fire that led them to the promised land. A Holy fire. How much more than is the Word of God a Holy fire in our lives? It guides us, lights up the dark places, takes the edge off the winter seasons of life and purifies all that is unclean within us. God spoke to Moses from a burning bush, yet the bush remained intact. And God still speaks today. And we are changed, challenged; but by the grace of God, not consumed. What I'm collecting here are some of my simple thoughts about the Bible. It is a labor of love and a work in progress. Since I was a young child I have loved these pages. I have memorized these words, doubted them, found Hope in each story, been convicted and encouraged. And in this book, the Father never calls us "adults of God" but always "children of God". So with a childlike heart I have created what follows...perhaps we'll rediscover what it was like to hear these stories for the first time.
